UWMC ED East Extension

Project news

Construction on Phase 3 began May 25. Phase 3 interiors progress was impacted by the discovery of asbestos in flooring mastic and water intrusion at the ceiling slab, delaying completion of the phase by 17 days. Having completed the remediation of both unforeseen issues, work continues with finish installation and electrical/plumbing trim out. Phase 3 is scheduled to complete on September 14, with Phase 4 to begin September 19. The team has acknowledged the risk of an additional 7 day delay should we discover more asbestos in Phase 4. The team continues to find ways to compress the schedule and mitigate impact. The current schedule shows a substantial completion date of 12/11/2018 without mitigation and will require an extension. The budget forecast has reduced by $155,053 from last months forecast to $15,238,013 from last month's forecast number of $15,393,066 based on previously forecast risk that has been mitigated through management.
